What’s been happening at the ‘Pad.
Launchpad (AKA the ‘Pad) went Live! on 5th October 2017 with one main aim – to test whether there is need and demand for a modern business hub in central Bishop’s Stortford. Initially touted as more of a business incubator than a general business facility, the ‘Pad now positions itself as a modern and forward looking facility for all local small businesses, new and old. There are still opportunities for mentoring, coaching and business planning, but we have been quietly surprised by the take up of our hot-desking offer (First 3 months free, no tie in) from already established local businesses and local freelancers/homeworkers.
Our community continues to grow and thrive; membership numbers are up month on month and there are many stories of organic business connections being talked about. It’s proving to be a great way of networking for people who hate networking! We have hosted a number of evening events including a French open evening and a coaching workshop. Next month (April) sees the first of our co-hosted digital meet ups, sponsored by Rubbercheese and One Time Gin.
Looking ahead we are starting to make plans to refurbish the (currently empty) space next door by fitting out a suite of small offices. The space will also feature a casual breakout area and quiet pods for those needing to make or take phone calls or informal meetings without hiring a meeting room. There is also a sizable training room available for hire which means we will expand our service offering significantly
We want to attract a diverse membership base and support local youth programmes. Our training room – available to hire post refurb – positions us to do this – as this is suitable for seating for approx to 30 people in a suitable environment. As our relationship with these programmes build and grow we hope to bring together inspiring stories and support from a myriad of different backgrounds and angles. Want to get involved? Please get in touch.
